OAKLAND, CA — January 26, 2021 — Oncue, the leading software and booking service for the moving industry, announced today that it has completed a $10 million Series A round of funding. U.S. venture capital firm Rethink Impact led the round, with additional investment from Crosslink Capital, Bowery Capital, Tien Tzuo, CEO of Zuora, and Dave Yarnold, former CEO of ServiceMax. Oncue plans to use the funding to scale nationwide and grow their engineering, product, sales, marketing, and customer success teams.
The COVID pandemic dramatically accelerated the already rapid growth rate of the moving industry in 2020, with no signs of slowing. “Nearly 40 million Americans move each year, and since COVID, nearly half of all Americans report that they are considering moving,” said Kate DeWald, Oncue’s CEO and co-founder. The number of remote employees is soaring, and more families and businesses are migrating outside of major cities to find affordable housing and operations, driving a record number of relocations throughout the last year. As a result, there has been a surge in new moving companies launching and existing companies expanding their fleets and opening additional branches. This is stretching many moving companies beyond their limits, as they try to juggle sales calls, lead conversion, logistics, operations, and customer support. Oncue’s software and booking service automates many of these manual processes, enabling movers to devote more time towards business growth and longevity. Read rest here.
